Scheduling
Your physician's staff will contact us to schedule your surgery.
Before Your Surgery
Our staff takes great care to ensure you are prepared for your procedure. For your safety and comfort, a nurse will contact you prior to your surgery to obtain a brief medical history and to review your pre-operative instructions. This information will be reviewed with you again the day of your surgery.
To make your surgical procedure safe and successful, we ask that you please follow these guidelines:
- Arrange for a responsible adult to drive you home and remain with you for the first 24 hours after surgery.
- You will be notified of the time of arrival for your surgery when the nurse calls you to obtain a brief medical history and review the preoperative instructions.
- Nothing to eat or drink after midnight the night prior to surgery- including no gum, candy, mints or water. This means nothing in the mouth.
- Bathe or shower the morning of your procedure to minimize the risk of infection.
- Brush your teeth the morning of your procedure but do not swallow any water.
- Do not consume alcohol 24 hours prior to your procedure.
- Wear loose, comfortable clothing and low-heeled shoes.
- Leave jewelry and valuables at home except you photo ID and insurance card.
- Contact lenses may not be worn during the procedure.
- We suggest you wear minimal to no makeup.
- Unusual changes should be reported to your physician, even if the changes seem minor, such as a cough, cold, fever or rash. Please alert your physician if there is a possibility you may be pregnant.
